Author Guidelines

If you have an idea, a proposal or a manuscript that you would like Ian Randle Publishers to consider publishing, simply fill out the Author Questionnaire and email it to us along with your proposed Table of Contents and a one-page summary of your work at editorial@ianrandlepublishers.com or fax it to us at (876) 978-1156.

Please do not submit your entire manuscript.

A book goes through various stages to reach publication. Here are the basic steps:

Step 1: Project Proposal

We will evaluate your Author Questionnaire, summary and Table of Contents and decide whether or not your idea is a good fit with us.

Step 2: Proposal Evaluation

We may ask you to submit some materials such as the table of contents and some chapter samples to determine whether your proposal fits with our editorial aims, market niche and product plans. Very often we refer these materials to outside reviewers for reactions. We contact the author when we have made a decision. Please allow 6-10 weeks for this review process.

Step 3: Contract

We then offer the author a contract usually starting with our standard contract and altering it as needed.

Step 4: Manuscript Delivery

The author delivers the manuscript prepared according to Ian Randle Publisher’s House Style. We require a CD in Microsoft WORD as well as 2 printed hard copies.

Step 5: Editing

The manuscript will be edited.

Step 6: Author changes

We send the manuscript back to the author for clarification and to make sure the author agrees with the editorial changes made.

Step 7: Design and Layout

The manuscript will be designed and put into book format.
